Opaque black - brown beer, big tan head. Palate is airy and fairly dry, good fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts, light roast. Tangy coffee and fruits, a little malty dark chocolate and light fruity yeast. Dry finish. Tasty.

Bottle. Can’t recall where from. Very dark brown. Thick, lasting, dense, tan head. Nose has woody, chocolatey malts. Light coffee grinds. Some sourdough yeastiness behind it. Taste is fudgy sweet, turning fruity, bready, yeasty dry. Some vinous bitterness. Easy drinking, although maybe to the tune of being a bit thin. Finishes with a coffee grind bitterness. Slightly odd, and no less than you’d expect from a Mad Hatter beer.
