Bottle from martin00sr, opened to celebrate my birthday. Pours clear copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of caramel, malt and yeast, with notes of fruit and touches of hops. Sweet flavour of brown sugar, malt, caramel and fruit, with heavy boozy notes and touches of yeast. Bitter, boozy aftertaste with sugary notes. Well, Bamsen goes boozy today! Yee-haw!

Clear deep nutty color with a head that vanish a bit to fast. Not even a layer in the end. It was also a bit to cold at start. So the aroma was not that inviting either. And my first try with this one many years ago was a complete disaster. I gave it 1.1 here….. Felt I had to give it a new chance. And the start did not give me much hope for a better rating. Ok this one is sweet, but still quite balanced and nice. Smooth in a way. Also a bit oily texture. The carbonation level was actually quite nice for this beer. Toffee, dried fruits, some banana and some spices in the flavor. WoW what a nice evening sipper. The temperature did really matter here. And it fits best alone. Quite well masked alcohol. warming and fine.

Bottle shared in London - huge thanks to Daniel for this treat. Pours glowing orange-gold with a slight, creamy white head. Loads of gooey toffee in the nose, bread, honey. Big sweet flavour, with toasted sugars, creamy caramel, mild bitterness. Medium to full bodied with average carboantion. Oily and chewy. Warming finish, sticky sweet, with more toasted sugars, caramel and toffee, hearty bready malts. Good, if you like a big sweet beast of a beer. Drinks good for the ABV.

25-12-2016. Bottle. Bottled in 2008. Very well bottle conditioned. Color: Dark reddish brown. No head. Taste: Very sweet, like syrup. Alcohol, chocolate and hints of caramel and brown sugar. Very nice beer, but a little bit too sweet in my opinion. 26-12-2017: Bottled in 2013: Younger version. A little bit more fruity, hints of plums. 30-04-2018: Side by side 2007, 2013 en 2016. 2007 is over the top, 2013 is very good. Goes a bit towards a good Port, very well aged. 2016 is good, but a bit young compared to the 2013 edition.
