Аромат винный, немного солодовый. Цвет потрясающий, глубокий и богатый, хорошая пена. Вкус винный, сухо фруктовый, ягодный. Послевкусие немного яблочное и квашеное.

Beer of the month at ABT-cafe Bar le Duc, Den Bosch. Pale amber looking Flemish Sour legend, fruity/sourish tasting, but you must love this great beerstyle.

$4 bottle from Appalachian. Old rate for this somewhere but this is labeled as a 2022 blend. Big, cascading, sticky oatmeal head. Malty, oatmeal, Nilla wafer nose, very slight twang. Sweet heavy cream & cherry jus. Low acid, slight tartness, vinous middle, soft brown, very bruin, rich & thick, gentle tartness on the finish. Super smooth. Everlasting frothy, built in & warming abv. Less complex then I remember but a very, very nice beer. Notes from May 2011 375ml bottle I've had stuck on the door of the mini fridge for a couple years. 2006 printed on the cork. Sweaty bottle poured into an Ommegang anniversary glass. Slimy, but otherwise sound cork. Deep, amber/brown color. An uncharacteristically steady hand results in a bright pour. No head. Scary-looking debris left clinging to the neck of the glass. Smells like a prune-y barleywine. Toffee & a little compost. Maple. Cooked fruit. A fair bit of oxidation. A caramelized sour brown. Subtle cherry fruit. Raisins. An almost onion-like sweetness. Lemon. Barely a hint of vinegar. Oxidation seems more like stale candy then newspaper. Carbonation is on the stronger side. Body is a little light. Alcohol is somewhat of a nuisance. I have yet to have the latest reincarnation of Goudenband, but from what I remember, this bottle has lost a few steps since it was new. It seems the new stuff has been pretty well received though, so until then...

March 2016: 330 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer (I could swear I had rated this beer before, but apparently not). Dark reddish brown colour, large beige head. The aroma has first a whiff of smoke, then notes of red wine, red wine vinegar, oak and horse stable. Pleasant flavour, malty, fruity and only moderately sour, again notes of red wine, red wine vinegar and oak, hardly any noticeable hops. Still easy drinking, due to the fruitiness. The alcohol is well hidden. Nice one.
