Copper colour with a small white head. Bready malt aroma with vineous notes of dried fruit. Sweet malty flavour of bread and biscuit, with dried fruit, a hint of vanilla, and vineous alcohol

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Clear russet colour with thick lasting beige head. Fruity malty aroma. Yes malty. Some intensity. English peppery hop finish. Is it as good as a Fullers Vintage which I guess is the closest thing to which to compare? No, not quite as good. Not as hoppy or characterful. It’s fine. The malts are fruity and a lot like Soreen malt loaf. Some character some interest. I mean I quite like it. Some yeast character. Chewy malts. Nothing wrong, it just doesn’t kick on or have an extra depth. Fine.

Bottle, 2013 vintage. Reddish bronze beer with a strong off white head. The aroma is roasted and malty, and the flavour is strongly malty with bitter and roastedness. Overall a nice strong ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Årgang 2012. Flaske 0,5l - #05725. Gave fra Fin&Loz. Delt med Rune under avskjedsrating i H9 - 3 Des 13. Kastanjebrun. Høyt luftig skum som varer. Litt lacing. God aroma av nøtter med innslag av sherry. Avrundet smak. Syrlig tre & nøtter. Lett drikkelig. Ettersmak av eik & sherry. Litt tørr. Thanks to Fin&Loz. Deltok med denne i Mass Online Tasting.

Cask @ Wellington Arms, Bedford. Appearance is chestnut brown. What little head there is scampers darn quick. Cloying aroma of malt, hazelnut and treacle. I was not prepared for the intensity of the taste: as intense and rounded as a good port. Maybe a bit too sweet but this is tempered by a drier woody aftertaste. Best strong real ale I’ve had in quite a while.

Bottle at TSODRSG 13. Red dark golden colour with no head. Aroma is alcohol, malt, caramel, dried fruits. Flavour is alcohol, malt, caramel, plums, brandy, dried fruits. Nice beer.

500ml bottle, no. 05725, from a box. Thanks to Fin&Loz&Isobel for this beer gift. Deep, deep dark amber coloured body. Decent off-white head leaving spotty lacing down the glass. Caramel malts and dried fruits on the nose, sherry like. Smooth, blended taste profile of herbal hops and caramel malts nicely offset by a fresh fruity aftertaste. Well bodied. Cellar dry and sherry impression. Nice (Shared with Finn as a part of our mass online tasting, Tromsø 03.12.2013).

500ml bottle, 2013 vintage. Pours dark orange brown with a small head. Aroma is raisin, molasses and fruit cake spice. Taste has spice to start with caramel and touches of port on the finish.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium amber colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, oxidide, dried fruit notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, vintage malt, caramel, dried fruit notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130523]
