Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention. Aroma of nice black chocolate malt notes with scotch notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix of smooth black chocolate malt notes with light residual sugar notes a notes of scotch and oak with light vanilla that rounds off all the flavours. Body is full with good carbonation. Solid BA stout with good restraint in term so amount of residual sugar notes.

A deep dark imperial stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, beautiful sweet chocolate malt with loads of licorice, alcohol warmth, dark fruits, very nice. In mouth, sweet chocolate malt with loads alcohol warmth, licorice, vinous character, beautiful.

Bottle picked up at Chiltern Brewery yesterday and consumed at dad’s, Kilburn near Derby on Saturday 25th July 2015 in the company of Dad, Pauline, Scott and Mandy. Pours black with a tan head, a little oily, liquoricey and quite thick in the mouth, loads of dark burnt sugar. Thick in mouth, sweet. Some warmth, a little bitterness, it’s good but I don’t think it is great. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
