[33cl can from Beer52, “brewed in the EU”.] A murky cola brown pour with a thin off-white head; caramel aroma with some vegetal bitterness in the background; sweet, syrupy malted caramel taste with an unpleasant earthy bitterness; then an unexpected hit of raw alcohol in the chest. I won’t be hurrying for another of these.

A Mexican beer bought in London and opened in Bergen, who would have figured? Pop the top on the 12 oz bottle and pour into a glass. It shows dark brown with some amber effect. The smell gives off some grain and chocolate. A drink delivers a bigger taste than I anticipated. Chocolate, toasted bread and a touch of of toffee and berries. Fairly thin. Decent for a basic porter.

10/7/2021. Bottle shared with Dan and ITFCfan at the pre-Euro final beer share (Come on England!). From Drinkscraft.Pours very dark maroon brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, dried fruits. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average carbonation. It's fine.

355ml bottle, poured into a Gordon thistle glass at home on 23rd Apr 2021. Light beige head on a dark black body. Malty and watery in nature, dry and fairly bitter in the mouth. Leather and dark chocolate in the taste, caramel in the nose. Strange one really.
