Cask at The Alehouse, Reading. Pours clear dark amber with a sliver of a beige head. Aroma: toasted grains, hedgerow fruits, caramel. Taste: light sweet & light to moderate bitter, more toasted grains, earthy hops, caramel. Light body with low carbonation. Not special.

Cask at the Union Tavern - London. Pours clear amber with a creamy cap. The nose holds toasty grains, dried berries. Light sweet flavor with further grainy toast, earthy hops, more berries, leather, leaves. Light bodied with fine carbonation. More of the same to finish, just some dirty grains, bitter leaves, berries. Standard bitter, really.
