Keg at Mother Kelly’s. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet stone fruits, biscuit, toasty grass, grainy and something odd like onion (I totally understand the previous guys notes of Durian). The taste is harsh bitterness upfront, underlying sweetness, pine, alcohol, resin, mild astringency, icing sugar, biscuit, pepper and onion with a lingering drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not sold on this one.

Tap at Craft Beer Rising (London, 19 February 2015) Shows a dark concentrated & foggy brownish yellow with a finger of clean white head. The nose shows strong notes of durian with some faint notes of a cinnamon bun-like sweetness. The palate shows moderate carbonation and a full body. Moderate bitterness on the finish. Starts off with strong flavors of durian which slowly changes to resinous pine as it warms up. Slight residual sweetness. Personally, I never thought Fourpure would make something this god awful.

On tap at the brewery. Clear orange gold lasting cream head after a vigorous swirl. Well it?s no Racer 5. Too much butter caramel on aroma to let hops through. Some fruit. Frankly it?s not a great ipa. Yes hops on end yes some sweetness in the middle. Finishing hops are good and lasting. Aroma lets it down for me.

Keg at the Kings Arms - SE1, London. Pours clear yellow-gold with a frothy white head. The aroma holds pine needles, pithy citrus, some grapefruit and lemon. Medium sweet flavor with assertive grassy bitterness, pine, alcohol, dry pale malts, light minerals. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Bitter finish, lightly warming and resinous, with pale bready sugars, more pith, rind. Not bad.

Keg at the launch at the three John’s. Aroma is orange Peel, dank, pine hop, little spicy note. Clear pale golden coloured pour with a lasting sticky white head. Flavour is composed of clean biscuit, base grains, orange, mouldy oramge peel, dank hop. Assertive solid clean bitterness. Very well balanced. Lingering spicy orange. Palate is medium sticky resin, moderate to high carbonation. Decent IPA. Hop is like a Dana or eldorado.
