The Fox. Tap takeover. Cask. Clear amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Mild caramel malts, not that sweet. Dry. Hops are a mild and typical bitter orange. Little tangerine. Fairly dry and bitterish finish. Tidy? Tick! Decent? Tick!

Cask at the Fox - London. Pours clear burnt gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds a hit of citrus rind, leaves, toasted hay, apricot. Light sweet flavor with pale, grainy bread, some light berries, leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with some residual sugars, faint toffee, old berries, orange peel, grain husk. So so.

(Cask at King William IV, Leyton, London, 10 Apr 2014) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of toast, dried fruit and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with toast, apricots, tea, dried fruit and a gentle bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well made and balanced bitter. Quite nice.
