42nd Floor Tasting. Thanks to Colin and his mule (that’d be me!). Bit of a gusher. Opaque dark brown beer, bubbly pale tan head. Airy palate, fairly dry and it has mild fine carbonation. The dark malts are mellow but have a little mild roast bitterness. Fluffy malt cream. Mild pine bitterness. Airy dry finish. Mild bitter linger. Could be smoother.

Bottle at the sky high Canary wharf tasting. Thanks to Colin, Caramel brown hazed with a lasting lively mid tan head. Aroma is earthy mushroom, choc, nutty. Flavour is composed of light choc, earthy, light funk, mushroom, nutty. I like it. Palate is airy, medium full, Light tangy in the finish. Interesting beer.

Bottle split at the 42nd floor Tasting, from ABC Beers, came with a gusher warning and didn’t disappoint ! 08/10/15. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a big ole tan covering. Nose is charr, roasted tones, light peppery spice, liquorice, cocoa powder, trace of soap - thanks Obama ! Taste comprises earthy hop, grains, dark red berries, light chocolate, spice. Medium bodied, over carbed in that Dutch way, earthy hop bitterness in the close. Adequate CDA ... carbonation loses some points here.

Bottle at the 42nd floor tasting thanks to Cloin. It pours dirty/muddy brown-black with a massive dirty tan head. The nose is toasty, bitter-sweet, piney varnish, smarties, candy and dark chocolate cake. The taste is smooth, toasty, bitter-sweet, earthy roast, cocoa, charred wood, peppery spice, quite dry and burnt wood. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. The aroma is particularly good. Decent.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Colin. Yep, it gushed. Pours deep brown with a creamy beige head. Lots of damp earth in the nose, some cocoa, rotting wood, light roast, some dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with a little burnt plastic, earth, brownies, bitter cocoa. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Dry finish, lightly warming, more bittersweet cocoa, earth, wood. Interesting stuff, but doesn’t work overall for me.
