Initial fruity hoppy aroma. Very smooth and silky. Some boiled veg in the background. Ok but not quite balanced.

Tap. Sheffield Tap. Murky amber. Film of grey head. Woody, earthy hop. Some citric rind. The tea comes through as floral and tannic. Taste is zesty bitter, and earthy dry. Palate is more of the tannin, in tooth furring mode. Finishes dry, and light bitter. I got the lemongrass thing at the end, but only after I’d read the commercial description! Ok.

Tap East Collaboration Fest. Cask. Cloudy amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Nice tangy lemon - pleasantly sharp. Little citric peel underneath. Dry, almost dusty malts underneath. Light dry finish. Hop spice linger. Pretty drinkable.

Cask at the Claret thanks to Dave via Colin. It pours lightly hazy amber with a small bubbly head. The nose is earthy, tea, peach, orange and spicy notes. The taste is bitter, earthy, tea-like, citrus peel, spicy bitterness, peach and caramel with a lingering bitter-earthy finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Interesting and good depth.

Cask at The Vintage and The Pantry. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Light lacing. Aroma of lemongrass, elderflower and straw. Sweet flavour of peach, ginger, apricot and lightly roasted malts. Light peppery finish. Medium body with an oily texture. Flat carbonation. A touch sweeter than I’d like, but this is a very distinctive, tasty beer. Very nice.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 25/1/2014. Amber coloured with a slight white head. Citrus fruits, some pineapple, green tea and a lingering slightly herbal, dry finish. Unusual and enjoyable.
