Bottle from SH Jones, Banbury, Thursday 9th January 2014 consumed Friday 10th January around Lynn & Barrys Egg yolk colour with white head. Hoppy but also sweet, curly with a little tropical fruitiness. Nice but perhaps would have preferred a little less sweetness and a bit more bitterness and hoppy complexity. A7 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.3

Bottle shared at Dadsgiving, from the brewery, 24/11/13. Hazed light golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is earthy hops, sticky mango, orange, citric laced straw. Taste comprises dank hop notes, orange pith, light grapefruit, earthy, grassy, lightly toasted malt base. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy bitterness in the finale. Solid enough APA but not from the top draw of the Kernel’s chest!

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras. Hazy gold amber colour thin white head. Restrained hop aroma. Quite juicy in the mouth. Strawberry and lime flavour in the mouth. Bitter finish. It’s clean on the aroma. It may not be as in your face as some other Kernel beers but ido like the strawberry sweet flavour. Pretty good

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy pale golden body with a thin white. No lacing. Aroma of white grape, biscuit and lime. Flavour of yeast, tropical fruits and a faint peppery spice. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. A decent American Pale Ale but not one of Kernel’s best.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours hazy, orange-gold with a moderate, frothy white cap. The aroma gives tangy tangerine, some doughy pale bread, pine needles. Light to medium sweet flavor with lightly bready pale malts, some flinty dryness, further tangerine, pleasant grapefruit. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Quite clean on the finish with drying minerals, crispy pale malts, lightly jammy and resinous citrus, grapefruit, orange. Completely solid.
