Clear amber beer. Light citrus hop aroma. Slightly citrusy taste, bitter, almost a smoky quality and a touch of sour fruit through the finish.

Keg at the Pint Shop, Cambridge. Sightly reddish golden brown, hazy, small white head and considerable lacing. Caramel, wood chips and metallic aroma. Taste is sweet, nutty and refreshing, with a bittersweet toffee finish. Serve too cold so I wait for it to warm up a little, then the character shines through. This gives the taste a slightly savoury tinge, with saltwater taffy in the finish. Impressive.

Cask @ Blue Pig, Manchester. Copper-gold with a small smooth head. Has a very smooth texture too that has a creaminess. Has a malt nose with a lighter taste in this respect.

Cask at Lyric SoHo. It pours hazy pale brown with a thick off-white head. The nose is wood, earth, caramel, leather, citrus and light smoke. The taste is earthy, wood, spice, chalky, big bitter kick, leather, some astringency, citrus rind and metal with a very dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. A bit all over the place. Rough around the edges for sure. Odd.

Take away at home ... light golden amber ... thin white lacing ... soft lime fruits ... soft toffee nose ... light bitter hops ... big lime ... soft fruits ... dry malt ... oily biterness ... ok but not my kind of thing
