This beer was brewed as a collaboration between Jack’s Abby and Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Valley Malt malted all the 2-row malt in addition to the specially smoked malt with hand-sourced wood from VT. Brewed with one gallon of maple syrup per barrel of beer. An addition of lactose sugar and brown malt rounds out a beer that tastes great from breakfast till dessert. Enjoy!

Bottle at Bruce’s, big thanks to Leighton. It pours deep orange-amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet, smokey, toffee, juicy orange, earth, vanilla and coconut. The taste is toffee, light toast, earth, vanilla, smoke, maple glazed ham and light bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Excellent balance. Very drinkable.

Bottle at Bruce’s - London. Thanks mom for getting this one! Pours mostly clear, red-gold with a frothy off-white head. Nose has lots of peat, some smokey ham, hints of caramel. Light to medium sweet flavor with sturdy honey ham, light peat, modest caramel, some bread. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, more bread, peat, honey ham, subtle caramel. Very drinkable stuff. The peat isn’t overly potent. Nice.

50cl bottle pours a hazy, caramel amber with some wispy, white head. Nose is some light smoke, a little cherry wood, some light maple, almost a maple wine aroma, some brown sugar, malt. Flavor is a weird mix of sausage fat and sweet maple, I guess it tastes like breakfast sausage, but not in a great way, honey, malt, brown sugar, some bread, some pitted fruit, a little cherry, date. Full, sweet and smokey finish. A strange combo.

On tap at the house de 1000. I hate smoked beers but the barmaid at the house gave me a sample of this to try for free. I was very suprized at its drinkability for a lager lover. slight metal aroma. some haze in a darker amber brown liquid. yes, maple fer sure. not over the top what so ever. makes me think about bacon but its not in yer face. quite acce[table beer experince.

Pours a slightly hazy light amber with a smallish off white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of earthy sugar with a solid hit of smokey phenols and little else. The flavor follows the aroma, sweet sugary malts with plenty of smoked flavor. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick smokey mouthfeel. Nice beer but a bit boring.

Tap. Pours clear reddish amber with a small beige creamy head and some lacing. Aroma is cigarettes, smoke, maple syrup. bready malt. Flavor is the same, quite mapley actually, lightly sweet, medium smoky, very light associated astringence and little bitterness. None of that weird metallic bitter thing I often get from maple beers (see e.g. Maple Nipple). Light body, soft carbonation. Nice beer.

Pours deep amber into an English pint. Sickly white head recedes to skim surface. Sweet maple and smoke aromas. Dry and sweet with maple syrup, bread and caramel upfront turning to mild smoky campfire in the lasting finish. Better than it looks...
