Cask gravity at Craft 100. It pours cloudy golden with a small white head. The nose is fresh, dough, light sweetness, lime, brioche and grapefruit. The taste is bitter, straw, citrus peel, lemon, grapefruit, peppery spice and a good deal of bitterness with a dry, lingering bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Very drinkable hoppy pale ale. Refreshing.

Cask @ Euston Tap. Fairly average golden ale with a light, grassy floral character & soft malts but ultimately rather timid flavours, lacking a real sessionable bite

On tap at Cobbles in Kelso. The leaat exciting beer I’ve had from Tempest to date. Amber in colour quite a lot of apple and toffee on the nose and taste. Medium bodied and quite balanced but not particularly tasty though inoffensive.

Bree Louise. Keg. Almost clear gold - amber beer. Decent white head. Palate is light, dry and crispy from good fine carbonation, stinging. Nice light grapefruit and grapefruit pith. Little orangey citrus. Light sweet malt underneath. Sweeter orange before a very crisp finish. Refreshing and super easy drinkable.

Keg at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, 30/12/13. Clear amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is caramel malt, bitter orange, grass, bitter summer fruits. Taste comprises orchard fruits, straw, toasted malts, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation with light prickle, crisp closure. Ok but lacks flavour, expected more from Tempest.

Cask at CBC, London on 20th December 2013. Copper with thin off-white lacing foam. Malty aroma with touches of spice. Sweet malts in-mouth, with slight but noticeable metallic note. Hops emerge in a bittersweet finish, but with plenty of malt bias. Pleasant without being overly sweet. Engaging texture and fair body for strength.
