Pours a pitch black with a nice tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, wood, whiskey. Flavour is liquorice sweetness, whiskey, alcohol. Thick mouthfeel. Another winner from Meneer de Uil, it’s too bad these brews will be gone before long.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. opague. Chocolate and caramel in the aroma, very little peat. Caramelly sweet, roasty flavor, witth just hints of peat. Only getting stronger in the aftertaste. Alcoholic. Needed more time in the cask, if you ask me.

Almost clear dark brown - amber beer, a few tan bubbles. Smooth palate, light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, light touches of dark chocolate and cream. A nice fruity whisky touch but this is Caol Ila so there is the band aid peaty character to deal with, pleased to say that it is clear but not defining in this beer. Smooth fruity finish. A little peppy spice lingers on. Yeah - for this type of whisky barrel, right up there for me.

Bottle shared in East Croydon during Scopey’s 5K tasting. Many thanks to Josh! Pours black-brown with a light, creamy tan crown. Massive peat character in the nose. Medium sweet flavor with prominent dark malt character, light chocolate, nips of alcohol heat. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more big peat character, cocoa, roast, moderate boozy warmth. Very nice.
