Schramm’s Ginger is a full-throated, unapologetic expression of pure grated ginger and honey. Honey sweetness is balanced by full ginger flavor with a touch of spiciness, making this mead a perfect choice to pair with spicy Indian, Ethiopian or Thai cuisine, grilled Korean mackerel or flavorful sushi and sashimi. It also pairs well with dark chocolate and is a great addition to a whiskey ginger cocktail or a moscow mule.

375mL bottled 4/29/21, drunk 12/25/23. Clear, ginger-honey. Earthy, deeply spicy honey-ginger but not dominated by the finger, far from it. Good phenolic yeast character. No booze. Excellent honey character doesn't smell too sugary. Warm bread and honey with black pepper phenolics and earthy notes leading to moderately spicy ginger. Never gets hot (spice or alcohol), and the honey reprises on the finish with a soft, succulent, comfortingly, moderately-sweet character.

31-01-20 // taster at Braukunst Live! in Munich. Thanks sinh4 for sharing. Thicker oily viscosity. Loads of ginger but not in a too overspiced way. Pairs well with the honey sweetness. A great mead.

Bottle @ Dangerous Bottleshare ft. Lukasmh and Daawi thanks to Lukasmh and Bursprak. Pours clear yellow. Aroma has lots of windshield cleaner-like notes, ginger, honey, chemical notes. Taste has ginger, honey, floral, spice but the same chemical notes. Seems like nothings wrong with it but not on par with ANY of the Schramms meads I’ve had at all.

Bottle. Clear golden color with no head. Aroma is super ginger, very aromatic, light honey down there too. Taste is ginger, nice spiciness, subtle honey, very drinkable. Oily mouthfeel, flat. Condensed in the best way.

Bottle shared at home, thanks to Maakun for making the trade happen. Thanks to Maakun’s US contact too, cheers! Clear pale golden, no head. Massive ginger, the smell is soapy and ginger spiced. There’s lovely light and lean pale floral and grassy honey, and there’s amazing growing ginger aroma and spiciness. Ginger takes over almost completely, but the honey remains prominent in the nose. Lovely experience. Alcohol is not noticeable in the aroma but it is notable in the experience. Alcohol fueled peppery ginger aroma’s with some bees 🐝.

Bottle shared with sjogro. Clear light honey golden. Light soapy nose. Fresh ginger and sugared ginger, quite present flowery honey, light cream, soft sherry wine and alcohol, nutmeg. Quite sweet with ginger spicyness. Full bodied and no carbonation. More honey character than fruited Schramm’s. Very nice except the nose which is a bit too soapy, otherwise I’m in love.
