Euer Marc Goebel

0.75 l bottle from local 'Trink & Spare', best before October 2020. Clear, ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, a bit roasty aroma of caramel, cocoa powder and toasted nuts. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty taste of cocoa powder, caramel and toasted nuts, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, powdery and minimally earthy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Solid stuff but lacks balance and complexity.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Milk chocolate and roast in the aroma. Full bodied. Roast, coffee, licorice, caramel. Malty sweetish, fairly complex flavor. Could be mistaken for a Baltic stout.

Dark chocolate brown with a huge head. Sweet cocoa roast aroma. Wow, fantastic flavor, great balance of sweet chocolate coffee roast, bitterness balances well with the sugars. Drink with a bowl of vanilla ice cream...

75cl bottle from Edeka, Rothenburg. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, foamy, beige head; lots of lacing. Aroma of burnt caramel, roasted peanut, milk chocolate, dried banana, orange peel, tea leaves, mocha, raisin, brambleberries. Taste is medium malty sweet, caramel in a slightly burnt way next to dried banana, orange peel & forest fruit (berries, raisin - making it a tad sourish) wrapped in dough; light herbal bitter then, dried tea leaves on fondant with a toasty & nutty edge. Dryish, earthy hoppy finish, lingering nuts, fondant, not too sweet caramel, and subtle warming kahlua-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Rich, full, tasty, Stout-ish Bock.

Refrigerated 75 cL brown bottle, best by September 9, 2019, from Erzengoal, poured into a snifter. Black with medium/large beige head. Aroma is nuts/chocolate, medium body, medium/lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is nuts and chocolate. Really nice for the style.

Bottle sampled at Den Haag bottle share at Brody’s. Almost clear dark brown with small beige head. Sweet malts and caramel, flowery, light chocolate indeed, bready, toffee, light old wood. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied.
