Cask at The Metropolitan Bar (Wetherspoons), Baker Street, London. An amber coloured pour with a thin white head on top. Obvious ginger aroma. Tastes of ginger, fruity, some caramel and spice. Quite pleasant, I’m a massive fan of ginger.

Cask at JDW Charlie Hall; dark amber pour with white froth head, spicy ginger aroma, ginger comes through in the taste with some citrus and spice, unbalanced for me.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis, Twickenham, 12/04/13. Almost clear dark amber with a thin frothy off white head that retains well. Nose is ginger, malt, spice, orange peel. Taste comprises dark malt, light spice, light toffee, citrus notes, orange pith, ginger. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dryish finish with a ginger tang. A decent enough offering which pleasantly surprised me, the ginger was well balanced making for a drinkable beer.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Amber with a thin cream head; ginger aroma; immediate hit of ground ginger in the mouth, giving warmth and spice, then a rough spicy bitterness; with some lemon at the finish. Not really my kind of thing.

Goodmans Fields Spoons. Light haze on this gold - amber beer. Good pale cream - coloured head. Palate is smooth with fine carbonation. In good condition. Nice blend of fairly bitter citric hops and a good semi sweet ginger. No real ginger heat. Creamy malt base. Finishes semi dry with a good hoppy linger. Refreshing.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW - London. Pours clear yellow with a fine, foamy white head. Certainly some ginger in the nose, along with doughy bread and light hay. Light to medium sweet flavor with lemon, more ginger, some bitter grains, mild dough, biscuits, hay. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Bitter lemon rind to finish, lightly spicy ginger, orange rind, dry dough. Fair.
