Tap@ Brewdog Helsinki. (6,2% according to the notes on the board). Grainy stuff, cereals. Quite nasty, hoppy, citrusy, lots of grains as well. Different for sure. Lemony finish.

Keg at the Euston Tap, London during my boozy day of tickin’ with Ken. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Wonderful from start to finish. Delicious, with lovely lightly toasted bread, faint dough, mellow hay bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish with true bread, interesting bread, faint dry dough, hints of citrus - mostly orange. Awesome lager. I could drink this all day. Here’s hoping Magic Rock cranks out a few more lagers.

Keg at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Vague hoppy, fruity aroma. Tastes slightly hoppy, floral, fruity. Not really my thing.

Keg at Euston tap. It pours golden with a small white head. The nose is floral, grass, dough and tropical fruit. The taste is grassy, dough, floral, faint herbal notes, crisp bitterness, soap and touch of pithy lemon with a dry, grassy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not my sort of thing, but well-made nonetheless.

Keg @ Hanging Bat, Edinburgh [020413]
Amber, clear, dense white bubbly head, nice lacing
Aroma - Dry hops, lots of grassy herbal bit spicy hops, dab of dry lemon zest, strange hop aroma, very grassy herbs
Taste - Dry spicy grassy herbal hops, hopped up pils, pale malt background, rather weird flavour, it’s a Marmite beer but I like it
Palate - Medium carb, light to medium body, grassy quite bitter hop but right amount of sweetness in the malt background. Finish as main flavour, fairly rapid finish, quite dry, very soft dry hop tail
Ovevrall - Very hoppy derivative of a pils, it will divide opinion. I like it. It’s my highest rate for a lager so far.

Euston Tap. Thanks to Leighton for this one. Light haze on this gold beer. Little white head. Genuine tasting lagerish malt which a lot of the hoppy lagers of recent times have lacked. On top of this is a floral and crispy lemon and a whisper of lime. Good stuff.
