Draught at Villi Wรคinรถ, shared with Matti. The body is almost black as pitch with just a ring of bubbles to the rim. Aroma is aniseed and malty. Dark malts with mid-tart fruits to the taste buds added by liquorice. Finish off with a roasted bitter touch. Medium bodied. Tasty (Helsinki, 06.02.2011).

On tap at the brewpub in July 2010. Very dark brown, almost black with a small head. Roasty aroma with licorice, coffee and caramel. The taste was rather sweet. A quite pleasant Porter but on the thin side. Low carbonation.

Draught at the brewpub. Poured a very dark red, almost black, small off white head. Light sweetish nose, rye bread, quite light. The taste is ok, but too light, dryish, caramelly, notes of tobacco and honey. Some bitterness, but light. Hm. Not as good as I thought it would be.

Draught, 5.6% at the brewpub. Weak fruity, roasted aroma, notes of sweet liquorice. Almost black colour, looks a little hazy. The flavour starts off fruity, turns roasted and sourly bitter. The finish is acidicly bitter and a little fruity.

Medium creamy brown lasting head. Hazy barely translucent dark red body. Roasty licorice aroma, very clear, with peppery notes. Dry roasty licorice taste, a bit watery, with acidic banana notes. Mild, dusty mouthfeel. Dry roasty aftertaste. Decent, but couldnโ€™t be bothered to finish it. (0.25l draft at brewpub.)

Draught (Olutkellari, Helsinki)- Very dark brown iin colour with red tinges. Malty aroma with some roasted hints featuring coffee and some liquorice. Smooth tasting with roasted coffee and some good malty notes. There is a slight sour hint but it overall this beer is very easy to drink and tasty.

(Re-rate on 2008-10-29, real ale version at Olutkellari Helsinki) Almost black. Tiny tan coloured head. Yesty aromas, roastedness and tiny bit of coffee in nose. Full bodied palate with light to medium carbonation. Liquorice, hint of metallic flavours, tiny bit of sweetness, bitterness, coffee, ashy flavours a little and hint on burnt malts in taste. Sweetish and bitter aftertaste. It’s great that the brewery began to produce real ales and succeeded in it really well. (Draught at Olutkellari Helsinki on 2008-04-12) Black. Not much head. Roasted malts in nose. Roasted malts in taste, too. Some coffee. 6-4-6-3-12=3.1
