750 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Black colour, big brown head. Strong smoky aroma, notes of smoked meat and bonfires, also some moderate roasty notes in the background. The flavour is surprisingly mild, smoky notes of course, but not extreme. Very moderate roastiness, quite dry, too modest hops (Perle and Tradition). Hints of acidity throughout. Easy drinking.

Bottle at Chriso’s post GBBF one night. Bacon aroma, really smokey bacon too. Black in colour, lasting thin beige head. Really impressive. Lovely roast and smokey bacon. Pretty drinkable, a little thin in mouth. Good balance. Lovely.

Bottle that I picked up at GBBF 2009, consumed 21-08-09 Pours dark brown with a light beige head. The aroma is quite strange and actually a touch fishy, maybe that’s the smokiness giving it a kipper edge. Its smoky in the mouth, touch burnt, some bitterness, very interesting and with some chocolate, soft feeling in the mouth, nice stuff. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottled 75cl (at Chris, BB 08/2010). Dark ruby, almost opaque black, small steady beige head. Strong smokey aroma: some smoked bacon, some licorice. Flavor is also smokey, a bit salty. Not as intensive than nose indicates. Feels less than 6%.
