Cask at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear, red-gold with a slight, creamy topping. The nose has some old berries and brown bread. Light-medium sweet flavor with some soggy grains and leaves, citrus peel, bread, vague pine. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation; the condition could be better. There’s a modest mineral edge in the finish, along with more ripe berries and grainy brown bread. Fair.

Cask gravity at Firkin Ale House Folkestone. Clear amber colour lasting off white head. Hoppy lovepy malty. Had a couple of not good beers before this so anything half decent was going to be a delight. It’s good. Good hop.
