5th Dec 2015: hand-pulled half-pint in the excellent Crown Inn, Oakengates Shropshire. Deep amber body, clean and clear, on top a lasting off-white head: the beer was obviously in great condition because the lacing and head lasted for some time (yes I know a half doesn’t take long to drink). Hop nose and taste with a subtle malt backbone. I liked the blend and flavours, being only 3.8% ABV it seemed a lot stronger because of the depth and balance: good.

Cask ale, half, nicely served at The Dispensary. Film-type layer blanketing the glassware. Deep, golden brown coloured body. Aroma of juicy malts. Well blended taste of malts, citrus and dark fruits. Fruit bitter ending. Nice and refreshing to drink. Good session ale (Liverpool, 09.04.2013).

Full bodied golden ale. Crisp despite the heavy texture. Has a small head.

Cask @ Cloisters, Edinburgh 031012
Orange amber, clear, thin white head
Aroma of pale malt, light aroma, touch of pale fruits, apricot
Taste - fruity malts, hint of strawberry (?), some bitter spicy hop, some cereal
Palate - soft carb, thinnish body but texture bit oily. Finish fruity with some dry bitterness in the tail
Overall - Reasonable golden ale for the low abv

Cask at the Wandsworth Common Spring BF, London. Pours clear, rich golden-yellow with a white foam head. Straw and lightly toasted dough in the aroma, and faint lemon. Light sweet flavor, some wood, straw, lemon zest and mild spicy hop bite. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Fairly dry and mildly sticky to finish, with more straw, citrus, light grain and toasty hay. Lasting straw bitterness. Nice.
