On cask at the sraf. Golden with a slim head. Lemon barley water, you know the script. Solid citizen, maybe even a bit further.

Light and refreshing despite its poor pale appearance, although there’s no real hints of lemon.

JDW Fest. Clear gold beer, residual white head. Light crisp palate. Lots of fairly dry pale malt with a nice touch of citrus and just a whisper of lemon. Dry finish. Goes down easy.

Cask at the Captiol, Forest Hill. Light golden pour with a white head. Subtle lemon nose with hints of peach, caramel and pineapple. Fruity tang. Plenty of lemon flavour in the after-taste. Liquid lemon drops.

[Cask at Monk’s Retreat (JDW), Reading] Rich gold with a moderate white head and a slight fizz. A little lemon (although not as dominant as the name implies it should be), some sweetcorn and a clean if rather cardboardy bitterness. OK refresher, if a little thin.

Cask at the Chequers Inn, JDW, Stourbridge. Pours gold with a small head. Aroma is lemon washing up liquid with some light malt behind. Not much to start with the taste. Thin grassy finish. Certainly not lip smacking.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 30/03/2011. Golden in colour with a decent white head. Sweetish, creamy malt and citrus aroma. Flavour had some lemon drops, bready malts and a short, bitter finish. Ok.

Cask conditioned at The Old Yard Tapas Bar, Darlington. Golden colour, low but lasting creamy head. Very moderate aroma, a little fruity hops and pale malts. Soft mouthfeel. Tolerably hoppy flavour, very drinkable.
