Cask at Malloys, Watford on 11 September 2013. Poured a clear amber colour with a medium, dense white head. Attractive looking pint, well kept. Malt forward aroma with hints of apple and floral hop. Malt flavours follow with some cooked fruit sweetness and brown sugar. Palate is a bit like stewed fruit, hop resin and toffee.

Hand-pulled pint at The Falcon Inn, Woore, Shropshire on 28 Sep 2013. Amber/brown and fruity: full head that stayed. The beer had a soft, orchard aroma and taste, sweeter more than bitter with hints of apples and pears within the mixed bag of flavours. Pleasant enough, but without testing your taste buds or nasal organs too greatly. OK and in good condition.

Insipid mid brown. Light aroma of and red grapes. Taste is bittersweet and unbalanced. Not unpleasant, but the astringent finish is jarring. Not quite sure what Wychwood are trying to do here. A passable but unremarkable basic bitter.

On cask at Varsity Bar, Lincoln UK - a ruby coloured ale, white head soon went, bit funky in the taste. Average.

Cask at the Redbridge, Andover. The pumpclip is great, definitely not politically correct, and definitely worth an extra mark on the overall score! It’s reddish amber in appearance with a loose cream head; the aroma is fruity, but indistinct; in the mouth it’s full od slightly sour red fruit, with a underlyign caramel maltiness; to finish there’s a dry metallic bitterness that’s light but lasting. A nice autumnal pint.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise, London. Pours clear, ruby-gold with pretty much no head. Dark bread aroma with slight fruit and caramel. Lightly sweet flavor, semi-dark malts, light plum, light leafy and herbal bitterness. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Fairly dry finish, very faint metallic note, mild toffee, bread. Basic, but alright.
