This new, naturally cloudy wheat beer has been brewed exclusively for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. It is created using pale Pilsener malts and wheat, with hops exclusively from the Savinja Valley, producing a continental-style beer with a floral nose and herbal, spicy undertones.

Cask during a Wetherspoon Beer Festival in 2010. No notes as pre-Ratebeer for me but rating transferred from the Facebook Beerseek app.

Cask handpull at Victoria Station, JDW, Victoria. Cloudy orange/gold. Thin white head. Banana estery aroma. Some very good spicyness on finish. I mean 10/10 for effort. A real attempt at a German Weisse. It’s just a little eathy and dirty and maybe not enough wheat as it’s a touch watery. It’s ok, and top marks for the attempt, but it’s not great. Strained.

Cask. Pours cloudy, orange-gold with a soft, off-white and foamy head. Banana and spice in the nose with some yeast and dough. Has medium sweetness with notes of banana, clove and honey, plus a lightly bitter touch. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet and fruity on the finish with light spice and yeast. Nice beer.

Half, cask at Standing Order (JDW). Naturally cloudy, amber body. Naked surface. Aroma of plums and apricot. Cloves and sweet citric, ripe fruits in flavour. Notes of fruity yeastiness towards the ending. Very much on the sweet side (Edinburgh, 29.11.2010).

From cask. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is dry estery and slight wheaty/yeasty. Dry, slight spiced, phenolic and estery flavoured. Dry and spiced finish. Somewhat bitter too.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Cloudy amber with a ring of white head - somehow looking rather flat; typical weisbier aroma with damp wheat and cloves; quite thick and grainy in the mouth, almost like drinking a banana smoothie; dry and spicy finish. A pleasant weisbier.
