Transparent dark color with no head. No layer either. Anyway a fine intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a soft carbonation level. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Mellow dark malt, caramel and roast in the flavor. Decent easy drinkable mild.

Cask 1/3 pint, gravity dispense, at the 16th Twickenham Beer & Cider Festival, as Kendrickโs 1823 Mild. Dark ruby colour, nearly black. Small beige head. Malty aroma, mild roasty notes. Malty and fruity flavour, quite enjoyable for its strength.

[Cask at the Nagโs Head, Reading] Murky dark brown with a small, loose white head and a very slight fizz. Initial flavour of chocolate and smoke, with some deep fruitiness lurking behind. Autumn leaves and earth in the finish. Itโs flavoursome, yet it somehow manages to still be light and refreshing. A good mild this.
