Cask at the Coronet, JDW. Pours a dark auburn with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma has notes of creamy vanilla frosting and toffee, with some light toast. Nice flavor, medium sweet, lightly spicy, has some raisin or prune hints, light vanilla syrup, light cake, some faint citrus and grass bitters. Medium in body with fine, smooth carbonation. Finishes sweet, creamy and malty with a slight hop presence and further vanilla frosted cake. A nice, easy-drinking beer.

Cask gravity at Colchester BF 2011. Darkish ruby colour with no real head. This some buttered toast flavour to it as well as some sweet malt fruot. Not quite as good as the Saffron beer I had before this in the same vein. Some diacetyl on aroma and some butter in flavour. Jammy malt is good though.

Cask at the Plough and Harrow (JDW), Hammersmith. Reddish copper with a thin off-white head; unusual cinnamon and apple aroma; fruity malt flavour, again slightly spicy; balanced bitter finish. A nicely made but unexciting beer.
