Wetherspoon Autumn Beer Festival 2019. Cask @ Richard Oastler, Brighouse. Deeper golden with a creamy head and a fuller-bodied hop-malt fusion. Thereโs not much flavour but is a decent stronger cask ale.

17/10/2019. Cask at the Windmill, Stansted (Wetherspoon 40 year celebration festival). Pours clear dark gold with a small white head. Aroma of hops, malt, citrus, caramel and leaves. Moderate to medium sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice bitterness developed. Quite drinkable.

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. 5.0%abv version for the 2019 Jdw fest. A clear amber orange coloured pour with a speckled off white head. Aroma is subdued woody apple, nutty malts. Flavour is composed of soggy wood, bark, grassy veg matter, apple, harsh bitterness,. Some harsh alcohol notes as well. Palate is semi sweet, bitting, ok condition. Meh.

Spoons Fest. Slighty hazy amber beer. Dry soft palate. Dry malt with bittering hop that has just a modicum of orange fruit coming through to the semi dry finish. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Too much unbalanced bitterness.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Chestnut colour, thick lasting beige head. Last half out of the cask, but this was still good. Good hops, ok mlat, good finish and flavour. Could be good in top nick. Good hop flavours of earth and pepper.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Gold with a dense cream head; English hop aroma; the flavour has chewy caramel malts and herbal hops; leading to a sustained bitter finish. An excellent, straightforward bitter.
