Spoons Fest. Clear amber beer, frothy white head. Last of the cask - had to persuade the barman to give it one more pull on the pump! Soft semi dry palate. Rich aromatic malts - but weirdly perfumed. Sweet nuttyness. Description says ’herbal’ - maybe that’s what I am getting. Unusual beer, glad to have tried it but would not want to try it again.

Cask at Baker Street, W’Spoons. An amber coloured ale with a good fluffy white head. Really nice fresh and fruity aroma. Easy drinking ale tasting of fruit with a nice slight bitterness. Pleasant.

Cask at the Moon and Spoon (JDW), Slough. Amber with a thin white ehad; fruity malt aroma; buttery mouthfeel, with sweet fruity flavours of plum and peach; gentle spicy bitterness to finish.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Amber colour with thin off white head. Vague centennial and simcoe on aroma. Mostly toffee on aroma and some neutral yeast. Pretty watery in mouth with then some decent drying but not too bitter finish. Very drying finish with some hints towards the US hops. Fine. Aroma is ok so is the finish, but the middle is mostly water. I do like the finish though

[Cask at Monks Retreat, Reading] Amber (as you’d expect!) with a large, lasting, creamy head. Dusty wheat chaff aroma. Citrus flavour with grassy notes and a malty bitterness in the dry finish. Strangely British-tasting despite the US hops. Bitterness grows as you drink more. Rather enjoyed this one.
