330mL bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Nose brings out piney hops, wood, and a little roast. Flavour is wonderfully balanced and constructed, with a great range of resinous and piney hops, roasted malt, and wood. Pretty much everything you could ask for in the style. The barrel aging isn't really all that noticeable, but perhaps adds a nice subtlety to the beer. Excellent.

Clear dark brown beer, big irregular beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: fruity, some forest fruits, sweet, honey, molasses, sugary, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, bit of exotic fruits, bitter hops, caramel, pretty resinous, some soft roasted bitterness. Aftertaste: very hoppy, citrus, mocha, some caramel, coffee, charcoal.

Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Bottled January 2014. Clear, damson red. Thin, sticky, bubbly, tan head. Bonfire toffee. Liquorice. Grapefruit juice. Some skunky hop. Light, blackcurrant fruitiness. Taste is blackcurrant sweet, first off, then dark fruity dry, and finishes full on bitter. Very tasty. They donโt piss about, these Weird Beard folk...

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany with a frothy tan head and some broken lace. The aroma is red berry fruit, fresh juicy hops. The flavour is medium bitter with a grassy hop, light toothpaste, citrus fruit, vinous, light chocolate palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Glad I got more that one bottle of this!

Bottle shared thanks to jmgreenuk. Pours near black with creamy beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, vinous notes, pineapple, orange, citrus, fudge, roast and milk chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with light carbonation.

Opaque dark brown beer, big pale tan head. Palate is airy and soft with mild fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, no roast or bitterness. Mellow dark chocolate and lightly tangy dark fruits. Whisper of spice. Nice mild vanilla oak. Finishes smooth. Nicely joined up and very drinkable.

Bottle at the Black (IPA) Friday tasting, thanks to LKS, 09/05/14, 211th CDA rated - only the 4th person to achieve this milestone! Black with a moderate tan swirl and edgework. Nose is red berry fruit, light spice, pine, roasty tones, earthy cocoa powder. Taste comprises red berry fruit, tropicana, light roast, pine, bitter grapefruit. Medium + body, fine carbonation, trace of booze in the close. Solid CDA.
