3rd April 2008 Bananaish undertone in the start and a malty mid. A little vanilla as well. The whisey is well blended in and very subtle.

[Cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Sickly sweet aroma of cough medicine. Tastes smooth, you really get a whisky flavour here. Lots of malt. Grew on me over the course of the drink and would have liked to try more. However, it’s quite sweet - fear it could get rather syrupy if you drank too much.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A hazy amber beer with a thin bubbly off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as a light note of smoke. The flavor is sweet combined with an acidity and notes of wood and oranges as well as light notes of brettanomyces and old wet wood barrels, leading to a dry finish. Not really me.

Cask handpump at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Pale chestnut with a trace of a white head; little aroma; malty taste with a slight smokiness; and a rather dry finish. Not very inspiring.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper with thin lasting beige head. Alright, bit more sweet more than anything else. Yeasty aroma. It’s not attractive in the mouth, bit sour on finish with the dryness. It’s just not very pleasant. Nothing wrong with condition, but an ill conceived brew for me.

Cask in a J.D. Wetherspoon, London
Golden color. Nice malty aroma, not as much malty taste, a bit watery at the end. Light hopping.
