330ml bottle. Clear dark brown colour with huge, macropore, white head diminishing in a swoosh. Earthy, fungoid, chestnut aroma, hints of mushy peas. Taste is slightly bitter, sourish, nuttily, hints of chestnut, coconut. Undercooked idea.

Bottle @ home shared with Thompson. Clear rusty orange color, small to average sized white to off-white head. Aroma is huge huge nutty, hazelnuts and I guess chestnut. Weird and unique as far as I know. Taste however is old nuts, slightly sourish, sigarettes, ash, brown malts. Average body and carbonation. Not my thing at all, don’t like it. Interesting brew though.

Hazy amber brown colour, small frothy beige head, recedes after a while, light lacing. Aroma cocoa, roasted, nutty, brown sugar, herbal notes. Taste medium sweet, bit sour, light nutty. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste light bitter, light bitter and sour notes, fruity notes. Overall disappointing, too watery and flavours too subdued, sour elements don’t seem right.

Bottle split at LKS ’Beers of London’ Tasting, high up, 10/12/14. Amber meets dark orange with a moderate off white covering that dissipates quickly. Nose is caramel, spice, Planters dry roasted peanuts, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises caramel, chestnut, spice, earthy, light charr. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stuff, one of their better offerings, if not the best I’ve had to date!

Bottled (from Ales by Mail). Ambery to nutbrown colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, som nuts, mild caramel as well as some mild herbal notes. Flavour is rather similar, but in quite a mild way, ending up with the beer being somewhat watery as for the palate and flavour.

Tasting at Leighton’s Flat. Light haze on this deep gold beer, small cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry with decent fine carbonation. Sweetish pale malts. Tangy fruits. Nuts! Hazelnuts and lesser walnuts more than chesnuts! Light dry finish. Nutty in both senses of the word!

Bottle at Leighton’s. It pours clear amber-brown with a small white head. The nose is soft, juicy, earth, toffee, candied peel and bread. The taste is toasty, wood, straw, toast, nut, orange peel, dried fruits, spice, candy, lemonade and some acidity with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting and pretty enjoyable.

Bottle shared in London. Pours clear amber with a creamy off-white head. The nose has lots of burnt peanut shells, some dry bread. Light to medium sweet flavor with grainy toast, more nuts, dried berries, peanuts, herbs. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced on the finish, some dried fruits, raisins, bread, further nuts. Pretty impressive, really.

Bottle shared at Leightons pre Christmas tasting. Light amber/ reddy coloured pour with a lasting halo of off white head. Aroma is spicy tobacco, earthy twigs, Bit of powdered choc on the nose. Flavour is strange, perfume, tobacco, spicy, tired hops, little spicy. Palate is medium crisp with highish carbonation. Lingering weird berry fruit.
