Jet black motor oil pour. Small dark brown head. Intense aroma of burnt, scorched malts, wood and burnt soy. The burnt ingredient theme is quite prevalent in this beer. Quite smoky, and the peat comes through. Good body, light carb. Intense bitterness and quite a bit of heat from the alcohol.
Better than the islay and cognac.

From bottle @ 1st BBF De Molen. Black and opague. Creamy muddy aroma with chocolate and whisky notes. Raisin. Alcohol, soy sauce, dark chocolate in the flavor, but oak and whisky are dominating. Long alcoholic finish. This is simply too much of the good.

Dark brown, no head. This has a lot of whisky and wood, a big fat tangy chocolate and toasty sort of malt. Decent alcohol in the finish. It's a fat, tangy, big beer.

(Bottle) Black colour with firm, beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of strong sweet coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, wood, treacle and vinous whisky aromas. Malty, roasted, vinous taste with strong black coffee, dark chocolate, cacao, treacle, liquorice, soy sauce, toasted oak wood, a touch of smoke and a vinous finish with a generous coffee bitterness and a warming whisky fire. Full body, thick and oily. Fairly sweet. Quite boozy and hardly well balanced, but very tasty with a generous whisky barrel character. Excellent beer.
