This cross-cultural brew was first made at the request of an Irish musical group and was named "Celtic Heaven," but soon became a permanent part of the Serafijn lineup. Similar to a light Irish ale, but but with the intriguing of a spicy, almost perfumed aroma that comes not from spices but from a special Belgian yeast.

Sampled at Zythos 2009. Copper colour, thin beige head. I have a slightly toffee toasted beer in front of me, bit watery and no real flavour.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, amber to brown colour with a medium-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet and toasted malty aroma with caramel, coriander, nutmeg and a slightly vinous fruity touch of figs. Sweet flavour, quite slim bodied mouthfeel with a lively carbonation. Toast-malty taste with notes of caramel and a moderate fruity touch; sweet and slightly bitter toasty and restrained fruity finish with light spicy notes (08.II.09).

750 ml bottle from John’s Market in Portland, OR. Dark coppery amber color with a frothy off-white head. Interesting lightly spicy aroma with a little caramel and hop. Near medium body with coarse carbonation. Flavor is spicy, a bit citrus/coriander, dark caramel, and little hop. Finishes rather herby/woody. Almost dusty. Dry. Pleasant to drink. Not the common Belgian ale.

A clear ashy light brown ale with a thick off white head. A sweet yeasty aroma , with fusel alcohol, very aromatic, a bit doughy. In mouth, a lightly sweet doughy malt with light coriander, a bit buttery, thus the celtic angel name. Medium bodied. Bieropholie imports.

330ml bottle. Off-white layer resting over a hazy amber-brown body. Yeast and herbs to the nose. Spices and late fruits in flavour overshadowed by candy sweetness. Soft texture (shared with Finn A. at Pegasus, Copenhagen 28.05.2008).

Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours deep gold to copper with off white head. The aroma is big sweet fruitiness of prunes, sugar malt sweetness, sweet tart candy and raisins. It has a light and dry taste containing mild fruity sweetness mixed with smooth fruit tartness. I get prunes, raisins, apples and plums all mixing around in there and playing together nice. Yum.
