Bottle shared. Gusher. Pours cloudy dull blond with a big short lived white head. Aroma of citrus, sweat, light smoke and herbal notes. Flavour is light sweet and above light sour. Light bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bouteille 33cl, BB05/2015. Big messy gusher. Couleur paille, trouble, col fin blanc éparse.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Hazy pale yellow. Nice smoky aroma. Dry wheaty and smoky flavor with a bitter finish. Quite light-bodied. Nice.

Gushing to huge, just-yellowish head; fully hazy light yellow beer, end of bottle solid yeast. Spicy, lemony nose, lemon-scented soap or beauty products, white cheese, marjoram or oregano. Spicy, Greek spiced yoghurt, dry spices, lightly smoked/phenolic, tanned poles (if quite restrained). LIght body, head feels as near-solid; well carbonated. Irish Grätzer brewed in Belgium?? O tempora, o mores - but it’s far from bad...

Courtesy of tderoeck. The first attempt at the reviving Grätzer style in Belgium? Stable, dense and sticky, cream white head over a clouded light blonde beer. Fascinating and unusual aroma of smoked bacon, wheat sourishness, yoghurt, grass, sea water, soap. Sourish onset, refreshing with the lightly salty touch expected from the style, something iron-like as well, wheaty, spicy and smoked accents, finish a combination of the initial sourishness and saltiness with hops only there for structure but not for bittering, as is custom in this style. I did not have many beers to compare this with, but this sure was interesting.

Sampled from bottle @ Tim needs to get rid of his ticks tasting. Ultra clear super pale yellowish color, average to medium sized quickly diminishing white head. Weird aroma with hints of hops, smoke, salty. Tastes about the same. Lightly dry finish. A bit thin bodied, average carbonation. Not too bad actually, but with some work it could be pretty good.

Thanks to tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Tim needs to get rid of his ticks” Tasting. Enjoyed together with tderoeck, Benzai & Alengrin. Milky yoghurt citrus appearance, creamy white head. Nose is smoked, salted & baked tempeh, lightly sour, smoked wood. Taste is sour lactic, salty, smoked wood, mellow smoke, it seems to have ’t Hofbrouwerijke off-flavours mixed in with everything else which takes it away from being great. Fizzy body possibly due to issues. Still this is interesting & enjoyable. Not bad.
