Dry-Hopped Pilsner
Fresh Cut is a sensory experience. It conjures impressions of freshly chopped ingredients, a newly mowed lawn, or the air after a cooling rain. This pale lager delivers captivating notes of fruit, grass and spice - highlighted by the luscious Chinook hop. The beer finishes crisp, dry and refreshing, helping to enhance the colorful flavors up front. Obviously we’re crazy about this beer and had to use a thesaurus to express our feelings about it.

Bottle from Shelburne Tap House.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a soft semi-hazy transparent yellow color. I poured fast to yield some head and so there was about a finger’s worth and that dissipated at a nice pace. Stringy lacing here and there.
The smell had some soft spicy to semi-sweet grassy hops over top of a light cracker malt backbone.
The taste copied the smell pretty much the same way. Semi-spicy aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a nice sesionability about it. Carbonation feels good, semi-low with a nice cut from the spicy to grassiness hitting my tongue nicely.
Overall, for a pilsener, I liked it. I’d say it leaned towards the Czech style, but then again, could be the yeast as well, since it is Peak Organic.

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Epsom Circle Market, Epsom, NH. Aroma is herbs, light citrus. Appearance is hazy light yellow with nice sparkle, 1/2 finger-width white foamy head with decent lacing. Taste is herb, citrus, and light pine mild bitterness. Palate is light bodied with foamy/chewy texture and lively carbonation with dry, crisp finish. Overall, this was quite good--refreshing and easily drinkable (though I’m sure I didn’t get the full effect as this was a little elderly). I liked the IPA-ness of this that sets it apart from a traditional pilsner--it works.

Draft at Morgan's BBQ, 6/13/15.
Murky golden color with a thick, frothy off-white head. Citrus and pilsner hop aroma. Mid-sweet flavor. Medium body. Clean and drinkable. Average to lively carbonation. Solid feel. Not a bad beer, but it felt slightly limited.

Pours a hazy dark straw from the tap. Aroma is a grapefruity/hay hoppiness. Mouthfeel is surprisingly full, maybe a little oily. Light flavor, almost lacking. A refreshing spring beer. Good.

bottle > pilsner glass A: Striking cloudiness and lots of bubbles producing prolific head with good retention and lacing. Golden dark yellow tint. S: Immediately punch of light but prominent hop aroma. Bitterness is promised. T: Bitter as promised, lots of light and very citrusy hop bitterness. Some grapefruit, some lemon but citrus is prominent. Very hop forward, well balanced, light and delicious. M: Quite light and highly drinkable. substantial sediment. Nice carbonation tingle. O: Light and delicious with an unexpected refreshing citrus character. A favorite.

Bottle at home in Salisbury. Pours lightly hazy gold with a frothy, white head. The nose holds pleasant citrus notes, baked pale malts, straw, lemon zest. Light sweet flavor with sturdy grassy bitterness, some lemon rind, citrus pith, hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lightly drying on the finish with some biscuity sweetness, more bitter grass and hay, some dried grains. Solid pils.

Bottled (from K Citymarket Kivihaka, Vaasa). Pale yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is grass, some herbal and mildly malty mellow tones. Flavour is rather similar, with a rather fresh take to it. Nice and different brew, considering what hops are in there. Mellow and very drinkable.
