For anyone who finds strawberries irresistible, Timmermans Strawberry evokes the fragrance of long sunny days. Its strawberry flavour will have you wrinkling your nose in delight with each sip. Its luminous colour and its fruity freshness are a treat for taste-buds and eyes alike. A totally juicy experience.

Timmermans Strawberry Lambicus is brewed by adding natural juice to lambic beer, a blend that is then fermented in oak barrels. After which it is bottled.

Taste wise… Its aroma evokes the perfumes of a lovely summer’s day. Its strawberry flavour confirms the nose’s impression, without being over-sweet, and is enhanced by a real feeling of freshness, recalling those tiny green granules that are found around ripened strawberries. Its taste is consistent and spreads very quickly throughout the mouth, finishing on a note that is fruity rather than sweet.

Bottle from Tesco Banchory. It pours hazy light pink, with a small off-white head. The nose is very sweet: strawberry ice-cream, bubblegum and angel delight. The taste is sweet strawberry, distant hint of tangy fruit, lime, sweet red fruit and jam. Medium body and average carbonation. Well it tastes better than it smells.... but that’s not saying much. Still it’s definitely not the worst fruit beer I’ve had; the hint of tanginess saves it.

25cl bottle.

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky tan-brown color with a large creamy pinkish-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was strong strawberry with a bit of must, earthiness and bread. The flavor was tart and bitter with a strong strawberry presence, moderate bread and light must. The finish was long with tart strawberry lingering. Moderately full bodied. Excellent.

Draft in a tulip @ Sunset Grill and Tap, Allston, MA. It pours a pink color with white head over a golden-orange body with a red hue. Light head and retention. Nose is a strawberry with some sugar. Taste is not as sweet as the nose, which is a good aspect. The low ABV almost makes it like drinking a strawberry puree. Lightly sour finish. If you like fruit Lambic’s this is decent.

Strawberry nose. Hazy pinkish orange, thin pink head. Nicely balanced sweet and tart flavor of strawberries. subtle hints of cobwebs. Quaffable, a tad alcopop-like.

Another sweetish example of what could be a more interesting beer if it had a bit more funk.

Bottle from Tesco.....Orangey red and hazy. Frothy white head that dissipated quickly. Not much lacing. Aroma of sweet strawberries, slight yeast.....Taste - lots of very sweet strawberry, fruity acidity with some sourness. Medium body, bit sticky mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Finish of strawberries, fruity tartness. Overall......Lots of strawberries, very sweet, not much else. More like a sophisticated alcopop. It’s not that bad, but not great.
