Pours hazy amberbrown. Small white head. Smell is sweet, indeed some xomplex mix of spices. Earthy / forest like as well. Taste is bit sweet, malty in the back. Lingering spiced sweetness. Very mild bitter aspect. Hood Mf and carbo. Very complex, yet very balanced. Perhaps a bit overly spiced...

Tasted at Oostends Bierhuisje (which unfortunately does not exist anymore). Strange ale with Scottish-inspired label and unusual ingredients; creamy foam, deep and warm, pretty amber colour. Malt and bit of candi sweetness, bit nutty, caramelly, adorned with vanilla, lemon peel and camphor-like spiciness; if you know what ground ivy smells like, well, it is certainly there. Belgian ales can be strange at times, this one is certainly unusual, but I liked it.

(bottle, 25cl) Hazy, amber colour with a big and dense slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet malty and moderately fruity aroma with notes of citrus/lemon and honey, accompanied by spicy and almost a bit ethereally notes. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Cara-malty base with notes of citrus, honey, coriander and a tinge of flowery hops. Likeable. 04.X.11
