Bottle at Cafe/Restaurant De Vlasschard, Stene, Nr Ostend, Belgium 23.09.11 Pours amber, intensely floral straight away. Honeysuckle and perfume on the nose and in the mouth, in fact loads of honey in the mouth. Nice beer but quite in yer’ face on the floral front. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Muddy amber color with a large cola-like white head that settles slowly to leave good lacing. Aroma of rising dough and baking bread. Flavors start with yeastiness and progress to a dusty sourness, with a background of cinnamon. Good body. Good start as we drank our way through the Strubbe line in Bruges.

Brown-bronze beer with golden highlights; fast gone white, irregulatr head. Quite spicy nose, coriander to the fore, and initially some other, fresh-smelling herb. Certainly NOT camphor! Coriander, sweet caramel on toast. Oh, and coriander, next to gingerbread spices. Sweet. And coriander... Light-ish MF, quite slick, even a bit sticky after some time. Overcoriandered. Generally much more spicy than I remember from long ago. Difficult to find, too.

Bottle: Poured a amber brown with a off white head. Hints of coriander, orange peel, and other spices in the aroma. The taste is a caramel malt with metals and spice.

Bottle at Cambrinus in Brugge (though they really had to search long and hard for it). Near cola aroma. Dark amber color with a small off-white head. Medium body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Flavor is mixed. Oak. Caramel. Floral hop. It’s very nice. The finish is dry, lightly bitter. Each taste seems mundane, then transforms into something satisfyingly tasty. It’s not the best beer ever, but it’s extremely good in a laid back way.

Pale brown colour. Aroma is quite chemically, with the smell of washing up liquid. It has a sweet, shandy like taste leaving some sugary sweetness on the lips. Lacks body in the mouth but does leave a warming aftertaste.
