Twin tasting of bottles from 1995 and 2012. Old bottle is quite oxidated and has zero carbonation. Notes of caramel in the old bottle as well. Old bottle is clear and dark golden. New bottle is hazy golden, and aroma and taste are leather, barnyard, malt, straw and hops. Nice.

37.5cl BB 09-11-2031, yes 2031.

375 ml. bottle split with Dave @ Antwerps Bierhuiske – just trying to fill in some lambic blanks here – lightly hazy golden, creamy; solid enough head – lightly musty smell, light wood, hint of fruit, horse blanket, yeast heavy - light white grapes in the taste, yeast heavy, light floral, white pepper, Boon funk & barnyard; dust, light clean wood – bit higher carb. lightly mouldy medium body – ok, enjoyable, won’t make this one a regular amongst my geuze purchases – other stuff is finer – simple but not bad but than again, I have never been a Boon convert

Bottle 375ml @ Geokkjer
Pours clear golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of a mild classic gueuze. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium sour with a sour and dry finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle @ Antwaerps Bierhuiske. Hazy dark yellow with a big and lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, citrus and barnyard. Flavor is medium sweet and rather acidic. Dry and rather acidic finish. 240712 --- Had the 2012 and 1995 vintage side by side. The 1995 was absolutely flat and oxidized, and also had quite a caramel note, that was present in the 2012, which was more or less as my original rating. I must admit that the 2012 was better since the 1995 had lost almost all acidity. A fun experiment. 040213

375 ml bottle from Belgium. Pours a mostly cloudy orange color with a small white head. A sweet woody nose. The flavor is similar: a sweet oaky flavor but dominated by tart sharp lambic. Doesn’t harmonize or have the depth of top flight Gueuzes but is good.

375ml bottle from our Belgium order
Appearance: Cloudy yellow with a big frothy white head and good lacing. Aroma and taste of sour fruit, lemon and citrus with a dry finish. OK, but nothing to search for.
