Creamy malty beginning. Easy to drink, hints of grain, mild fruity with a grainy bitter finish. Nice.

Sampled at Brassigaume 2019. A almost clear yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of moderate sweet strong malt, yeast. Taste of yeasty blond malt, yeast, straw. Low bitterness.

From the bottle. Orange with a frothy to creamy white head that lingers amidst a layering of sticky lacing. Aroma is yeasty with notable orange peel and spices. Taste is mildly bitter, vaguely herbal with very light metallic hints and an earthy, lingering bittersweetness at the finish. Pleasant.

330ml bottle. Pours a misty blonde, good white head. Lightly sweet aroma. Taste is fairly safe Belgian blonde territory. Softly sweet yet a little earthy yeast presence. Light vanilla. Yep not bad.

As Sainte Nitouche Blondinette Euro 2016 ("Come on Belgium"), a special label in the colours of the Belgian flag and intended to support the Rode Duivels, Belgium’s national football team, during the European Championship of 2016 - and therefore only relevant for a few weeks, so this is certainly an alias of the regular Blondinette. Cobweb lacing, snow white, bubbly, moussy head, big bubbles but still very stable; straw blonde robe with greenish hue, misty with fierce sparkling, more ’milky’ with yeast sediment added. Aroma has a whiff of lightstruck effect (ammonia) - the bottle had been standing in daylight in a shop window for several weeks - but fading away after a while, letting the other impressions breathe: green apple acetaldehyde, soggy sandwiches, dried grass, green kiwi, green bell pepper, sourdough, powder sugar, unripe gooseberry, dough, bitter honey, cucumber. Fruity onset with hints of gooseberry, green banana, red apple peel and pineapple, sweetish and a tad sourish, sharpish carbonation, bready malt middle, dryish with a grassy, lightly earthy and lightly spicy finish, soft but quite long lasting hop bitterishness; the lightstruck effect disturbs retronasally for a brief while but fades away quick enough not to ruin the whole thing. Stereotypical Belgian blonde, but quite alright and quaffable.
