Bottle split at Level 42, thanks to Wingmane, 20/10/16. Rich black topped with a decent tan head that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is rich roast malts, spice, charr, dark chocolate, bitter fruit, light booze. Taste comprises roast malt, spice, wooded, herbal notes, chocolate, charr. Full body, fine carbonation, drying close with a moderate boost. Ok impy but a little harsh.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Dave. Pours oily black with a dense, creamy brown head. Strong ashy roast in the nose, baking cocoa, scorched earth. Medium sweet flavour with notes of burnt rubber, dry ash, bitter dark chocolate, earth, leather. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with more ashy roast, baking cocoa, leathery dark fruits. Good, robust impy stout.
