Bottle @ benzai shared by benzai. Clear golden yellow, small white head. Smells malty, bit boring. Tastes malty, grainy, slightly sourish. Thin body, soft carbo.

22/III/13 - 50cl can @ home, with a cheap ass supermarket pizza - BB: 13/X/13 (2013-260) Thanks to Marieta and Kiril for the can!
Clear orange beer, big irregular white head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: sweet sugary malts, bit herbal, grassy. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: pretty bitter start, some grains, citrus. Aftertaste: bitter hops, little chemical, metallic, grains. Not bad, especially compared with the shitty Atlas from Panama I had afterwards.

2L bottle, Bought in Macedonia. Watery and awful taste. It belongs to one of the worst beers I’ve tried.

Can, thanks SirLimpsalot. Golden with a small white head. I guess that you get what you pay for. This was a typical boring Pale Lager. Boiled vegetables, grain, metal and something sweet like honey. Weak mouthfeel.

Bottles and tap in Sofia. Pale golden with a white head. Back in 2003 when I visited Bulgaria I found this beer to be better than the pale lagers of Norway at the time. Quite drinkable, not the most flavourless lager I’ve tried. Some bitterness and actually quite resfreshing on a hot summer day in Sofia. [Backlog from the end of June 2003]

International Green Week, Berlin 2012: our second day and we find ourselves in hall 17 where food and drink from Italy, Switzerland and The Czech Republic were on offer (as well as a few other countries) I notice a spare table and a couple of barstools, so plop the wife down and peruse the taps around me: I get the wife a Budweiser Budvar and myself a lovely looking ‘Schwarz aus Bohmen’ beer. While I’m enjoying my beer I notice a guy over the way in Bulgarian national dress (or something like that) who was cooking some stew type stuff: next to him were cans of beer, so after my Czech beer I wander over and return to our table with a 500ml can of this Pilsner. Poured it into my vase shaped glass and the review started: Yellow body, bright, clean and clear, could have been any one of 1,000 Pilsners/Lagers/Helle, thin white head on top (of course). Gets my regular score of 3 for a non-smelling Pilsner, couldn’t pick up anything worthy of note in the nose. Generic Pilsner feel to this: grains, mild citrus hop content and enough malts to prevent too much bitterness from the hops, refreshing and thirst quenching. Not the best, but I’ve had a lot worse in my travels. One of the better offering I’ve had from Bulgaria.

Bottle. Pale yellow with small white foamy head, slight doughy aroma, slightly sweet taste, mild carbonation, watery abrupt finish. Not a remarkable beer at all.
