|
Seven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected European and American hops help support the monolithic maltiness. After conditioning in stainless steel, this beer waited patiently in bourbon barrels for 8 to 12 months.

Draft at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Poured almost black in colour, with little life. The aroma is roasty, chocolate. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter and sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, chocolate, liquorice, earthy, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

(Draft at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 22 Feb 2025. Vintage 2024, 12.5%) Black colour with brief beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of espresso, soy sauce, treacle, cacao, vanilla and oak wood. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with sweet espresso, liquorice, soy sauce, treacle, vanilla, bourbon, wood and a balanced cacao bitterness in the finish. Full body, thick and oily mouthfeel. Sweet. Rich, powerful, complex and really tasty. Great beer!

Sweet and roasted malty with sweet chocolate and caramel, toffee fudge, bourbon here is very nice, full body, dark malty bourbon infused malty finish. Lovely.

Flight at BREW., Lisbon, Portugal. Pours dark, practically black, with fine brown foam. Aroma is intense, of vanilla, cane sugar, bourbon, barrel. Body is thick, smooth, a little sticky (not too much), with moderate tickling carbonation. Taste is rather sweet, with a chewy final, recalling pastry.
