Seven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected European and American hops help support the monolithic maltiness. After conditioning in stainless steel, this beer waited patiently in bourbon barrels for 8 to 12 months.

Sweet sweet bourbon barrels. Thinner than I'd like but damn cold out of my fridge. Warmer it doesn't get too much more flavorful, nice bourbon chocolate as is though.

Tap @ CBC2015. Pours pitch black with a medium brown head. Aromas of vanilla fudge, dark chocolate, light heat, some dark fruits and some nutty notes. Taste is fudgy, vanilla, dark chocolate, dark fruits, light sweet licorice and some nutty notes in the taste aswell.

Taster showing pitch black with no head. The nose shows intense concentrated notes of dark chocolate and molasses. The palate is lightly carbonated and full bodied/oily. Intense flavors of molasses with a strong burnt bitterness on the finish.

Keg at the brewdog AGM 2019. A dark brown black coloured pour with a fine dark tan head.. Aroma is sweet, jammy, raspberry, vanilla, smooth roast. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, brown sugars, Warming alcohol, mellow roast, woody. Palate is medium sweet, rounded,. Warming oak. Nice.

Keg at BD AGM. It pours opaque black with a medium tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, oily, vanilla, bourbon, rocky road, oily, intense, chocolate, toasted marshamallow and some tangy marmalade. The taste is slick, oily, rich roasted, burnt toast, coffee beans, umami, peppery spice, dark chocolate, toothy, whisky, floral, charred wood, vanilla, bourbon, oak and light tannin with a drying finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Rich and flavourful. Nice stuff.

EBF Last Saturday Inky Black with a good sized tan head that persists. Roasty earthy chocolate with bits of brown sugar set against a sweet bourbon oaky vanilla Very tasty beer.

Sampled at Ace & Kees festival. Very dark brown with small head. Massive bourbon, light chocolate, soft dried berries, soft coffee, sweet malts, light booze, toffee. Over medium sweet and also solid medium bitter. Almost full bodied with low carbonation and oily feel.
