Savanna Premium Cider first Siyavanna’d in 1996. Damn, we’re older than Black Twitter. But you know in 27 years you lay down a lot of roots. And like the trees our apples are grown on, our roots go deep. Which means though a lot has changed since ’96 – the way we bring Savanna to the people hasn’t, and never will. Because Siyavanna South Africa.

330ml bottle into glass. 5.0%. Very faint aroma of apple. Golden yellow, no head, medium carbonation. Flat mouthfeel, finish is slightly tart apple. Nothing bad but not much going on.

Bottle: Poured a bright yellow color cider. Aroma of dry apple notes. Taste is quite dry with limited amount of complexity. The apple notes don’t come out as much as I was expecting with a dry finish that limits drinkability. Never had such a dry cider.

330 ml bottle. (5% ABV) Pours a clear, golden yellow with a thin, fizzy, white head. Sweet apple aroma. Sweet apple flavour with a slightly dry, tart finish. Light body with a watery texture and fizzy carbonation. Refreshing, but nothing to get excited about.

33 cL bottle at Hog Heaven, Virgin Gorda, BVI. Pale yellow color, and no appreciable head. Nice nose of red delicious and granny smith, and some white wine character. Sweet, with a good balancing bitterness. Light to medium body, crisp, and pretty dry. Overall, a nice, refreshing, and slightly unusual cider.

Bottle from Seoul Plaza. Aroma sweet, some fruity fermentation left-overs, instantly reminding the first shy attempts at cider made here in Slovakia now. One would think they must be made by the same person. Clear yellow colour. Taste is like having sex in canoe. Sweet, with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Neutral watery finish. I guess this is okay for mass-market, but not so much for a more demanding drinker.
