A deliciously dark and full flavoured beer inspired by a traditional porter recipe. Overtones of chocolate mixed with a hint of coffee alongside a pleasing aroma of hops - one for the connoisseur.

Bottle from Crafty Pint. Appearance - olive black with a nice thin head. Nose - bitter burnt toast and liquorice. Taste - more burnt and liquorice notes. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and then it falls off a cliff. Overall - too much carbonation. But alright. A dry stout perhaps.

Gravity dispense at Merton Winter BF ’13. Mid black with a good sized frothy tan head. Nose is roast malt, cardboard, nutty tones. Taste comprises roast malt, light chocolate, dark toffee. Medium bodied but a little on the thin side for a 5 % beer, moderate carbonation, dry in the finish. Ok - not one I’d rush back to though!
