Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 30A/20C). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L00010 (BBF 01/18). AROMA: medium-high coffee aroma with a medium-low to low dark chocolate and slightly sweet background. APPEARANCE: very dark brown and opaque with slight ruby highlights. medium-low brown head, moussy, with good retention. leg formation. TASTE: medium coffee flavor with notes of dark chocolate. low nutty note that is overwhelmed by a medium-high hop, coffee and roasted bitterness. finishes dry and roasted. PALATE: medium body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: an "imperial" oatmeal stout a bit unbalanced towards coffee and roastiness.

Bottle at Ceveteca Lisboa. It pours jet black with an impressive dark tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, loads of dark roast coffee, cacao, spice, vanilla, burnt toffee, fudge and toasted nut. The taste is rich roasted malt, charred wood, light ash, plenty of dark espresso coffee, dark chocolate, toasted nut, spice, wood, leather, burnt toffee, red fruits, light acidity and warming alcohol with a dry, roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty intense stuff. Rich and unctuous. Aroma is really rather good. If you are a coffee fan this is for you.
